The story line :

The story revolves around a goose that a farmer finds wounded by a hunter’s arrow. He takes it and treats it, and it recovers. Over time, the goose begins to build a nest. The farmer goes to check on the goose, and he sees an egg next to the goose. However, it is a golden egg. The farmer is very happy. Day after day, they become richer and greedily crave more. The farmer, who is no longer a farmer, goes to the goose and cuts open its belly. He finds nothing, and he returns to being poor as he was before.

The lesson we learned from the story:

Greed brings harm rather than benefit.
